Well, I finally wrote down most of the Boyd history that I have. I still need to add the spouses of my aunts and uncle, as well as their children. I probably ought to get busy on that, very soon, if I want them to continue speaking to me!
In the Airgood line of my family, thanks to the efforts of a distant cousin, I know that Christian Ergute (Airgood - there are 7 different spellings) came to America from Germany in 1732. His descendent, Sebastian Ergood, fought in the Revolutionary War.
However, in the Boyd line, I have hit a brick wall. I can find no ties any further back than 1804, when John C. Boyd, my great great great grandfather, was born. I am hoping that through the Internet, & organizations such as the House Of Boyd Society, I will someday learn when the Boyds of my lineage came to America. This line means a great deal to me, since it is the name of my birth & the name that I carry. Any input from anyone reading this page would be greatly appreciated.
I am also seeking information on the following lines: Tracy, Belford, Kestner, Black and/or Feckaday (or Fekete, the Hungarian spelling of the word, meaning Black), Von Cararra (correct spelling is not known), Zimmerman, Keene, Lanegan, Gallagher, & Baylette or Bailet.
