Some Thoughts On The Environment

I once heard a pastor call environmentalists a "bunch of owl-loving, tree-hugging, Nature-worshipers." That made me angry, because I am an environmentalist and I worship God. I happen to believe that God created the heavens and the earth, mankind, all the animals, the oceans, rivers, mountains, EVERYTHING. I, also, believe that, as Christians, it is our duty to protect all of God's creation. Yes, we must use the earth's resources in order to survive and prosper. However, we must do so wisely, so as not to destroy the delicate balance of the ecosystems.

It is my hope that this page will encourage others to join me in helping to protect our priceless natural heritage. I want to call attention to the marvelous beauty in our world. I want to help call attention to existing and potential problems with our environment. In addition, I want to suggest ways we can correct these problems, and point the way to groups who are working toward this goal.

Please visit the web sites of the organizations I have linked to on this page. You will learn ways that you can do your part to help protect our world. (I have done my best NOT to list any group who supports abortion, as a means of achieving zero-population growth.) Together, we can really make a difference.

Thank you!

This Is My Father's World

This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!
